But not only the computer graphics were groundbreaking, the whole look of the film caused a sensation. The suits of the programs with their bright strips were produced with special technology. Man exposed each image differently, so that caused the different effects and then laid it back on today.
War of the classic back then really new and groundbreaking, raises the question as now would be the continuation. Did the artist create something really new that would fit for our times? Would it be possible to save the spirit and atmosphere of that time over? But first I want to get into the substance of the film. Sam Flynn still misses his father, even 20 years after his puzzling disappearance. One day, reached him but a message that comes straight from the casino of his father, which was not used since his disappearance.

The start of the new world it is very different than before. An action scene after the other. Sam is thrown into the same arena and there must be a variety of adventures. The fight with the discus is back, just as the crazy bike race. However, many times of rapid, visually powerful and complicated. Here is everything Glossy, almost everything transparent (the modern Technick makes possible), the look of the costume is still there, if also much more modern and flashy.
The graphics (especially 3D), the set and production design is really intoxicating, the modern and somewhat shrill music of the electro duo DAFT PUNK really more than fitting and exciting, but somehow remains a yet somewhat bad here.
Somehow it's still TRON but then somehow do not. Maybe it's the more modern look, that the story had to go any further, too, that it just no longer new, but the flair of the original TRON is no longer there. The story is nice, really exciting, but not the revelation.
There are many beautiful allusions and homages to the old movie, much of the real world from the beginning of the film immersed in the virtual world again. Quorra (super brilliant program) that is played by Olivia Wilde is a real treat. Very often I am reminded of the look and theme of the matrix (especially in the shrill Castor, who runs a club).
This is perhaps the reason why it is not fit into the world of TRON appear. The electronic world of the grid has evolved, but perhaps this is also the case when something has matured and does not in itself bad.
After all, it's a really cool movie, exhilarating pictures, driving action, brilliant music and a real nice and interesting story in itself. However, just without the revelation and innovation that was the first part. For some elements, one has the impression that these things would still be able to expand. It seems, however, other parts are planned.
